“Erebos” is a dark, dense album in which atmosphere is just as important as heaviness. On this album, Wojtek Wiesławski handled the recording, mixing, and mastering, striking a balance between brutality and spaciousness.
The sound is tight, focused, and consistent: the drums have a crisp attack, the guitars build a wall of sound without muddying the midrange, and the low end is stable and “authoritative.” This is an album that demonstrates how to refine extreme music so that it sounds professional and draws you in with its atmosphere.
